Is it safe for my enamel?
Used as directed, yes. Start on SOFT, keep the tip moving, hold it at a flat angle against the tooth and never press hard or rest it in one spot. A session takes two to three minutes. Ultrasonic scaling is the same principle a hygienist uses, in a gentler home version.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel a light buzzing and a tickle at the gumline, not pain. If a spot feels sensitive, drop to SOFT or COMF, or skip that tooth. Bleeding that lasts more than a day or two is a reason to see your dentist.
How often should I use it?
Once or twice a week is enough for most people, after brushing. It is for the build-up brushing leaves behind, not a replacement for your toothbrush or floss.
Does it replace the dentist?
No. It keeps your teeth smoother between professional cleanings. Tartar below the gumline, cavities and gum disease belong in a dental chair, so keep your regular check-ups.
