How It Works
Smile Patch is a kit of thermoplastic beads. Warmed in hot water they turn clear and soft, so you can shape a tooth by hand. As the piece cools it turns white and firm and holds its shape.
How to use it: drop a few beads into just-boiled water (about 80 °C / 175 °F) and wait until they turn fully clear. Lift them out with a spoon, let them cool for a few seconds, then knead a tooth shape with clean fingers. Press it into the gap and against the teeth either side, hold for a minute, and let it set for a few minutes. Smooth the edges with a fine nail file if you like.
Remove it before sleeping and for hard or sticky food. Rewarm to reshape any time.

Shape a small piece over the gap and press it against the neighbouring teeth. As it cools it turns white and firm and holds its shape, no glue, no drill, no appointment.

Is Smile Patch permanent?
No. It is a temporary cosmetic fix that you put in and take out yourself. It is meant for the time until you see a dentist, or for occasions where you want a full smile. It is not a dental treatment.
How hot does the water need to be?
Just-boiled water that has stood for a minute, around 80 °C / 175 °F. When the beads turn fully clear they are ready. If they stay white, the water is too cool.
Can I eat and talk with it?
Talking and soft food are fine. Take it out for hard, sticky or very hot food, and always before you sleep, so it cannot come loose.
How long does one piece last?
With care a piece can be worn again and again. Rinse it after use and keep it dry in a small case. When it wears down, rewarm it to reshape or make a new one from fresh beads.
Will it match my teeth?
It sets bright white. Once firm you can smooth and refine the shape with a fine nail file. It looks most natural when the piece is not larger than the gap.
Who should not use it?
Do not use it on loose teeth, over open wounds, right after an extraction or on painful teeth. Keep it away from children under 12. If in doubt, ask your dentist first.
